The San Diego Padres evened their NLDS against the Houston Astros by handily defeating the Astros 6-1. The Padres chased starter Fernando Nieve in the 2nd inning by scoring 4 runs. Houston scored a run in the 1st inning on Craig Biggio's leadoff homer but failed to score again, stranding 18 runners in the game. Chris Young was wild in his start for the Padres, walking 7, but otherwise pitched well enough for the Win. The Series now goes back to San Diego for a deciding game 5.
