2006 Game and Standings: Det. @ KC. Rogers wins 20th

 September 23, 2006

Kenny Rogers won his 20th game of the season as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Kansas City Royals 4-3. Rogers didn't have his best stuff, leaving after 5 innings and a 4-1 lead. 3 Tiger double plays got him out of big jams and the bullpen was able to hang on to the lead for the victory despite some very tense moments.
The Tigers have now won 7 in a row and are 9-1 their last 10 games. Minnesota lost tonight while Chicago won, so Detroit holds a 1.5 games lead over Minnesota.
