TEAM RISP- Blue Jays: 9 for 20 Devil Rays: 2 for 11

Vernon Wells recorded 4 RBI with one swing when he ripped a grand slam as the
Toronto Blue Jays bested the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 18 to 11 at Tropicana
Field.

Wells led the offense for Toronto. He slapped a base-hit knocking in a run in
the 2nd inning and quieted the crowd by clouting a Grand Slam in the 6th
inning. Toronto bats were hot in the 2nd inning with 4 runs on 4 hits, the
6th inning which saw them score 7 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning which saw
them plate 4 runs on 5 hits. Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 6
different innings was still not enough for Tampa Bay to come away with the
victory.

Josh Towers(2-3) went 7 innings allowing 7 runs for the victory. Ruddy
Lugo(2-1) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run and 3 hits in 2 and
2/3 innings.
