In a great finish the blistering-hot New York (AL) Yankees came back in the
top of the ninth and held on to win over the Baltimore Orioles by a score of
11 to 9 at Camden Yards.

New York (AL) came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning when
they scored 5 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Craig Wilson who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he lofted a three-run bomb.
This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead
kept changing - 5 times in all.

The win went to Darrell Rasner(3-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Mariano
Rivera got the save, his 39th. Chris Ray(2-3) was given the loss in relief.
He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 innings
of work.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Rasner, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
