 July 19, 2006

In another exciting extra inning game the Detroit Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox 9-8 in 15 innings. Game 1 of the 3 game series between these teams went 13 innings before the Tigers pulled out a win. In tonight's game Detroit starter Jeremey Bonderman didn't have his best stuff and the defense let him down.      Detroit trailed 7-4 in the bottom of the 9th when Marcus Thames thrilled the crowd by launching a 2 out 3 run homer, sending the game into extra innings. Chicago scored a run in the 10th but Curtis Granderson hit his 2nd homer of the game in the bottom of the frame, tying things up at 8. Finally, in the bottom of the 15th after 2 were out Carlos Guillan singled. Craig Monroe came to the plate and doubled into centerfield scoring Guillen all the way from 1st base.
