Colorado's Garrett Atkins smashed 2 HR and had 6 RBI but it wasn't enough as the Rockies lost in 12 innings to the Florida Marlins 13-11. Marlin's 1st baseman Mike Jacobs (pictured) upstaged Atkins by mashing 3 HR and driving in 7 runs. His 3rd HR of the game, a 3 run bomb in the bottom of the 12th, allowed the Marlins to walk off with the victory.

First baseman Mike Jacobs cracked 3 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Florida
Marlins bested the Colorado Rockies in 12 innings 13 to 11 at Dolphins
Stadium.
Both teams had scored 9 runs after nine full innings. Florida won the game in
the 12th inning. The critical plate appearance was by Jacobs who made the
Florida fans a happy lot when he lofted a three-run bomb. The game was a
wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times.
Franklyn German(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Scott Dohmann(0-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and
no walks without retiring a batter.
