2006 AL Game: TB @ NY

 May 4, 2006

   New York's Alex Rodriguez blasted 2 homeruns and drove in 7 as the Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 9-5. Rodriguez was 4 for 5 in the game and the 7 RBI is the most by any player in the AL this season. Randy Johnson got the Win and is now 5-0 on the year.

Third baseman Alex Rodriguez slammed 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the New York
(AL) Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays by a score of 9 to 5 at
Tropicana Field.
 
Rodriguez enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He smashed a two-run homer in
the 1st inning, slapped a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 5th
inning, stroked a single in the 7th inning and launched a three-run homer in
the 8th inning.  Kyle Farnsworth was perfect in relief and gained credit for
his 1st save.  
 
The victory was credited to Randy Johnson(5-0) who went 7 innings, allowing 5
runs. Brian Meadows(1-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3
hits and 1 walk in 2 and 1/3 innings.  
 
'I had a big day, but there's a lot of credit to go around' Rodriguez said.
'We played well together as a team.'
